WTH IS GOING ON?!

Loud and proud Gray Panther here! Born in ‘54, just 9 years after the end of World War II. I was a bit too young for the protests of the 60s. But I will never forget the lessons that I was taught by my elders about the fight against Nazi fascism. I always wondered what I would do if confronted with the need for resistance against autocracy. I am happy to say that I am all in. Writing postcards, emailing congress and local officials daily, volunteering at the Democratic campaign office in my rural town (though I’m an non-affiliated voter), spreading good news on Substack, Bluesky, and Facebook, including writing my own Substack column. Joined Indivisible and the local planning group for the Hands-Off rally on Saturday, participating in the boycotts, taking a class on resistance and how to get arrested, making donations to ACLU, Smart Elections, Vote Blue, Vote Forward and local nonprofits supporting the community, as well. As the Greatest Generation did, I will put my life on the line to protect our way of life for my kids, grandkids, and everyone else’s kids. Our kids have kids to raise and homes to pay for and jobs they can’t neglect. I’m surrounded by gray head in every one of these endeavors. Please appreciate your old folks who contain a lifetime of wisdom and grit.
